A birthday treat with a difference... a trip to Swanage and the Purbeck Railway. I haven’t been to the area for some years now, but it was a real treat to visit, once again, the Purbeck Railway. A fabulous treat for
steam buffs! The railway is ran by some very dedicated folk, preserving and running steam trains. It was a joy to see the 257 Squadron laying dormant in the station. Rescued from the scrap heap, the railway is now
raising funds for a complete restoration. Externally, it still looks great... but I bet it needs plenty of attention and funds to bring her back to life. Hopefully, it won’t be too many years away and she’ll
dominate the steel rails once again! ....hats off to the Purbeck Railway folk, well done and thanks for a fab day out!
